Jack and Little Bit the Mule
Jack at Hells Canyon Mule Days with Little Bit, belt buckles galore!

Jack Chambers was born in November 2007 in Cottonwood Idaho.

Jack rode his first mule name Cleo at the young age of 2 weeks.  Cleo and Jack stayed together until he was 5 years old.  This amazing molly mule taught him how to ride like the wind and the confidence he took from her still rings today in his riding.

At 5 years of age,  Jack asked if he could have a faster, younger mule.  This was when Little Bit,  a 5 year old herself, stepped up out of the herd and chose Jack.

She was a ruby red quarter horse molly mule that loved being with him every day from that day forward.

Jack’s prized mule Little Bit loved to show, and in this combination, Jack and Little Bit took belt buckles for the next 4 years, starting with Mule Mania in Dayton Washington

The pair took 2014 Highpoint Peewee Award and 2015 Highpoint Peewee Award.  In 2016 this dynamic duo took tri-state overall wins at Hells Canyon Mule Days in Enterprise Oregon,  Montana Mule Days, Hamilton Montana and all other shows in-between.

All during this timeframe,  Jack would take the lines of Belgium mules and drive them in the 17 and under youth classes, and was awarded a great honor at the International Draft Horse and Mule Show in Sandpoint Idaho.

In 2017 Jack again started to ask, “can Little Bit and I show in California?”  This was at a time when both Barney and Bobbi knew their love and passions for equines ran true in Jack Chamber’s blood.  They started looking for the next special mule and found Gidget,  a beautiful grey molly mule at Reese Mule Sale in Tennessee.  Gidget and Jack immediately clicked and the world was their buttercup.  They trained on the weekdays, and found open horse shows to compete at on the weekends.

Jack was on the path of learning formal western and english riding.  They also performed in trail classes, parades and was part of the local 4-H club. Of all the shows, competing at the Eddie McMurdo Memorial Show in Walla Walla Washington, this became a pivotal time for the Jack and Gidget Team.

Jack and Gidget took Overall Open BreedOverall English Youth,  and Reserve Overall Highpoint. Most importantly this is where Jack first saw an American Saddlebred in the show ring.  Little did he know in time, he would also be mounted on one.

In 2019, Jack, now 11, and Gidget only 6, competed at Bishop Mule Days in Bishop California taking top ribbons in 6 classes earning them top 5 youth rider.

2020 brought Covid, canceling shows, but the winds of change continued burning in Jacks heart.   He focused on his home school studies, his sport of wrestling, winning many medals locally and statewide.  Among his other accomplishments, Jack built and operated an Espresso Shop in Cottonwood and also worked in his parents convenience store that they too, had built.

The American Saddlebred horse never left his mind, and in 2021 this family set out to go to Kentucky and look at buying a show horse to bring home to Cottonwood.  Concerning the original purpose of the trip,  they struck out, but hit a home run when they discovered Maysville, Kentucky. The Chambers Family found a new “Kentucky home” at the heart of equine country.

Jack has many American Saddlebreds that he works with everyday at our new horse farm aptly named “Chambers Stables”.  In addition,  he is riding Gypsy Vanners, Rocky Mountain Gaited Horses and of course a special mule or two.

The move from Idaho to Kentucky was a boost for this young man whose dreams are beyond the moon.   Love what you are doing and the rest will fall in place.

Today, Jack is an integral part of Chambers Stables and enjoys helping younger riders with their lessons, and working towards showing his Saddlebreds.
