Frequently Asked Questions

Knowledge is power, we will show you and break down the steps for riding or driving, and tell you why each step is important.  We focus on you being in control with a clear understanding.

We teach in three different ways:

Telling you so you can hear what to do, then showing you what to do, (and if necessary we will have another horse we can demonstrate from).  Lastly,  allowing you to do it yourself with our guidance.

Good!  That is how we learn and thankfully our horses or mules are very forgiving to us.

Absolutely not.  Riding done correctly should be easy on you and the horse.  We like to teach how balance and finesse for you to be one with this animal, makes it easy.  We have horse or mules and tack that fits all sizes.

First check with your doctor, and then give us a call and we can discuss many out of the box ways we can use in order to get you back in the saddle again!  Driving is always a option if riding may not be.   As you can tell we don’t take “No” for an answer.😊

You may find some new muscles who popped up and said, hello guess who I am,  but riding taught correctly should not be a no pain no gain type work out.

If you rest you rust, and we all agree staying active is good.  Unlike a bicycle you park in the garage when you don’t feel like it,  animals take time and dedication.  Riding or Driving requires our bodies and minds to work both equally left and right side.  Riding helps our muscles and a brains work together for communication with a 1000 pound animal.

Yes we have a large group of 4 legged friends that we use for lessons.   And if you decide you eventually want to own your own horse or mule, we are happy to help you find the right one that fits you!

We suggest you bring your own personal riding helmet and pair of boots with a heel, and comfortable clothes suited for the season.

We understand, and look to our lesson horses or mules for their confidence that everything will be alright. Then at your pace,  we will take small slow steps to build your own confidence and trust.  It may take time, but it is possible for you to get your love of riding back again!
